Fat burning basics

Everyone wants a flat stomach. You can do 1000 crunches a day and still not burn off that extra around the middle though. You might have a six pack, but if it's in the back of the fridge it's not doing you any good.

So how do you get that extra off the trouble spots?

First let's start with a little explaination of why trouble spots are just that. If you have absolutely NO fat on you and you begin to put some on, it first stores in your trouble spots. In women it's often the thighs and hips. Men tend to get the love handles and beer belly. THEN fat begins to store in the rest of the body. When you lose your fat, it burns off ALL the rest of the body, then FINALLY, it comes off those trouble spots. Notice how sometimes you see someone with arms that seem well formed and somewhat defined, but they still have that extra in some spots. Those are their trouble spots. They've gotten it off all the rest of the body, now the last to leave will be their places of difficulty.

Solution: Burn the most calories you can in every workout and after. Yes AFTER. How do you do that? Resistance training. That soreness you feel for 2-3 days after a good workout with weights, bands and body weight exercises is your body repairing and burning calories. 2-3 days later you're still burning. So if you do resistance training 2 or 3 days a week, you are burning calories almost ALL WEEK LONG - 24 HOURS A DAY!!! Yes, it's true.

Cardio exercise is great and can rev up the metabolism for 12 hours or so, but get some good resistance training in, maybe a little help from a personal trainer, workout partner, however you get it, do it. Get out there and burn those calories all day long. THAT is what is going to get the fat off the trouble spots.
